The Power of Social Media at Events and Exhibitions

Social Media at Events

We had great fun last month working with Milo Bears who were exhibiting at This Morning Live in Birmingham. We were tasked with working on their social media during the actual event.

Founder Karen De Marco crafted the original Milo Bear for her grandson. This little bear was stitched together with love and became a beautiful roommate and a holder of treasured memories from Leo’s first adventure-filled year. When friends saw the decorative Milo bear in Leo’s room, they were smitten. They loved both the concept of preserving memories and quality. They wanted one too. And so, the family business was born.

Throughout the four days, we worked with Karen, Sam and the team to schedule regular posts on Twitter using the event hashtags as well as helping the staff to engage with other exhibitors and celebrities. Sam worked tirelessly over the 4 days capturing the images below which were then able to share on social media.

Gaining social media exposure at events and exhibitions is really important as it helps to ensure you get the most out of your efforts. If you’re exhibiting it can be quite a difficult task to update your social media, man the actual stand and talk with people who visit you.

Karen, Sam and the team at Milo Bears wanted to focus on talking with people who were visiting the show. They found the thought of having to tweet and update Facebook and Instagram added to stress levels.

We were able to work with them, provide ideas of things to do at the event and most importantly take away the stress of having to update several different social media platforms.

“Piece of Cake Marketing were highly recommended to me for our student accommodation business. They have done an amazing job of getting to know us and our business and producing a very high standard of work. They are extremely professional and organised which is why it works so well for us being in a busy office. I have recently started up a new business and attended a show at the NEC. Emma and Kate assisted with the social media whilst I was at the event. With their support, I was able to concentrate on the stand knowing that the social media was being taken care of and they also suggested connections that I could make whilst I was at the NEC. They are both really fun to work with!”
