3 Ways to do video without actually having to be on screen yourself

Adding video to your social media

There is absolutely no denying video should be an important part of your social media marketing strategy. The statistics show that on average videos on Facebook get more organic reach in comparison to photos.

Other statistics show that videos of 3 minutes get the most engagement and 85% of videos are watched without sound.

We do however have a bit of a confession to make! We don’t particularly enjoy being on screen. We’re much better at it than we used to be. The more video you do the more comfortable you become.

Have you shied away from video? If you have, you’re probably thinking, video is not for me, well that’s where you’re wrong. We’d really like to see you on screen, but if that feels like a step too far at the moment we have some tips for you.

Below are three ways to create simple videos for Facebook and other social media channels where you are not on screen.

  1. Facebook Slideshows – if you have between 3 and 10 images to share on Facebook have a go at easily creating a slideshow. Facebook has made this functionality really easy to use and you can even add music. Our top tip is to ensure the speed of the slides/images every 3-4 seconds, this allows the video to move at a good speed.

We had a great time supporting our friends Socially Shared Business Support Network at the Women Who awards on Friday. This week we are looking forward to attending The Parent Pause in Rugby and we will be getting our June content underway, it's hard to believe we are nearly half way through the year. We took the time last week to review our goals, have you scheduled time to do that recently? Kate & Emma

  1. Boomerang – This app allows you to create 4-second videos that are shown on a loop. We think it’s a really fun way to add a little personality to your posts. Best used on Instagram.

  1. Quik – is a great little app that can turn your images and boomerangs into videos. It allows you to upload your own image and add your own text. It will then give you a range of designs and music to choose from.

Video is a powerful tool that will help you to tell the story of your business. We hope our tips give you the confidence to have a go. Whether you like it or not you need to embrace video. Once you’ve experimented with these tools, please do have a go at some video. Facebook Live is a fantastic way of interacting with your audience and it’s here to stay.
