Case Study – Kickstart Programme

Marketing Consultancy - Marketing Communications

About the project

In early 2021 we had the opportunity to collaborate with Phoenix Creative (part of CUSU) to deliver a marketing campaign for West Midlands Combined Authority.

The campaign objectives were to amplify the Department of Work and Pensions Kickstart scheme to West Midlands residents. The COVID-19 pandemic had affected young people immensely and the scheme aimed to get young people paid work experience and build their confidence with the ultimate goal of getting them into paid employment.

What We Did

We worked with the team at West Midlands Combined Authority, DWP and other partner organisations to put together a suite of assets including case studies, images, videos and TikToks/Reels that could be used to encourage young people to sign up for vacancies.

Through interviews and photoshoots, we built a compelling social media plan to attract a disengaged audience to get involved.

We also worked with the team to create a website that enabled the young people to search for opportunities in their area which was the first time this had been possible.

Results & Stats

  • Created 12 case studies to be used across the marketing campaign.
  • Drove 100,000 unique website hits to vacancy landing pages which lead to vacancies being filled and a reduction in young people claiming Universal Credit.

What the client said…

I just wanted to formally acknowledge my thanks and appreciation for the work completed. It’s been a fast-paced challenge and I accept that I am often quite demanding as a client, but you have risen to the challenge worked across a multi organisation team and hit the ground running.
