Tell us about your business and what you do

I worked in retail for years before stopping to have children.  As the kids got older, I wanted to continue using my skills in retail and customer service and I qualified to become an Image Consultant for women.

Since then I trained to be a consultant for men as well, and to do Colour Analysis.  The service I offer can save people so much time and money, by making sure shopping trips are effective and cohesive.

I help clients understand their body shapes and what styles work for them.  Colour analysis is often poorly understood, but knowing what colours to wear can help you appear more authoritative or approachable in the work place.

Clients often struggle to work out the correct dress code for interviews, appraisals, networking and socialising.  A recent male client took my advice when pitching for 2 new contracts and nailed both of them!  Colour can also help your mood and creativity.  Wouldn’t that be useful?  It could also help your bridesmaids to choose the right colours to wear!!

Online, I run We Lesser Mortals – a fashion blog for busy women, as well as posting on Facebook & Instagram ( I love Instagram)

Family Status

I’m a single mum to 2 teenage girls aged 13 and 16. Whilst having a great relationship with both of them, they have seriously helped my negotiation skills, should I ever want to work for a UN peace keeping force. We recently did a 2 week road trip round California. That’s a lot of hormones in 1 car!!

Tell us something that people wouldn’t know about you …

In my twenties I sang in a band in front of 1300 people in the French Alps. I am also a trained ski instructor and aerobics teacher!

I love peanut butter and marmite on white bread and I have recently developed a serious addiction to almond croissants! Carluccio’s is seeing the benefit of that!

Who do you love to follow on Social Media?

Lasselom (Norwegian Marine)!!! It’d be rude not to.

Favourite Brand

Karen Millen – it seems to suit my illusions of grandeur.

Inspired by

My current partner.  No matter what comes his way, he is the eternal optimist. He also makes a mean G & T.

First job

I was a waitress in a restaurant on the edge of Lake Windermere.  As well as the job, there were lots of late night swims in the Lake following riotous nights in the night club next door!

Favourite place in the world

Fishguard, Wales. It is where my Dad grew up, and my parents still keep the little semi my Grandad owned. No matter how stressed you are, time stands still here – probably helped by the lack of WIFI and mobile phone signal. It must be the only place where seats at the local cinema are reserved by way of a piece of handwritten paper, placed on your chosen seat.

I write a blog to help busy women keep up to date with what’s in fashion.  Basically I do all the research for you, and believe me, keeping a little up to date with what’s on trend, can make you look younger.  I would love this blog to be successful and recognised for the time and effort I put in, as I love writing it.
