Useful Business Apps

Here at Piece of Cake Marketing we love a good App. We use them to save us time and in some cases money. The ones we’ve discovered have been recommended to us by friends and colleagues.

It can be difficult to know which ones will work for your business. The only real way to know for sure is to try them. What might work well for one business may fail for another.  Here’s a list of our favourites.

Useful Business Apps


Invoice 2 Go

This fabulous app is an absolute must for us. We can send invoices easily from our phone, tablet or laptop. There’s a free trial and then there is a tiered pricing system. They’ve also just introduced an automatic reminder facility which is I can see being really useful for businesses. You can find out more about pricing plans here.


Wunderlist is our latest useful business app and we use it to keep our work and personal life in sync. Whether you’re planning a holiday, sharing a shopping list with a partner or managing multiple work projects, Wunderlist is there to help you tick off all your personal and professional to-dos.

The biggest benefit to us is that you can share lists. We use it for splitting the workload and for storing a bank of content for all the different subject areas we work in. It’s great when you see a fab article and you can save it for later.

You can access from anywhere and it’s available for free on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Android, Windows, Kindle Fire and the Web Wunderlist works seamlessly across all major devices.


We ❤ Canva!  It’s one of our favourites. It is how we create the majority of our graphics for social media content and it’s amazing. In fact the graphic for this blog was created in Canva.

It takes a bit of time to get used to but once you do you will love it. It’s free to begin with but to get added features it is well worth paying for an upgrade. You’ll also find access to a huge amount of stock images that will cost you less than a pound.


We’ve recently swapped our emails over to Google for business.  It took us some time to get to grips with it, but we definitely think it was the right decision to make. Google calendar is amazing and we’ve already noticed a difference in how we organise our time and tasks. We’ve also started to use Google drive to share documents which is a necessity when working remotely.


Tiny Scan
Tiny Scan turns your iPhone into a mini scanner for documents, photos, receipts and other texts. With Tiny Scan, you can scan your documents anywhere and store or email them as PDF files.



Instagram is a fun and quirky way to share your life with friends through a series of pictures. Snap a photo with your mobile phone, then choose a filter to transform the image into a memory to keep around forever.
